Farah's Familiars: A Creature Cafe

FARAH'S FAMILIARS is a cozy, queer-normative fantasy novella about a halfling who accidentally converts the village coffee shop into a magical cat café with the help of her mysterious—and frustratingly cute—ratkin neighbor, Rune. They just might fall in love along the way. Ferndell is a slow place. At least, that's what Farah thought for the last three years. She has a comfortable but directionless routine behind the counter at Ambrewsia Cafe; it’s a quiet life, but an upgrade from being dumped on the street by her coven when she failed to develop magical abilities. Then her boss decides to retire, a talking cat shows up behind the compost with a broken leg, and whispers begin to spread about a magical spring that can awaken dormant powers. With a slew of would-be familiars barging into her tidy café, resulting in an unexpected bargain with her reclusive neighbor Rune, Farah must make an impossible choice: inherit the café and the quiet life she’s come to love, or risk everything to win back her family. —————————————— Farah’s Familiars is a cozy, low-stakes fantasy novella about belonging, chosen family, and discovering love where you least expect it.
