Saphly is a space built for and by the sapphic community. These Community Guidelines ("Guidelines") set out how we expect everyone to behave when interacting with other people through our website, publishing services, and community platforms (collectively, the "Services"), whether through comments, reviews, messages, or any other community feature.
By using our Services, you agree to follow these Guidelines, as well as our Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you should not interact with content or other users through the Services.
Saphly is a platform built around sapphic identity and community. Everyone here—readers, authors, and visitors—deserves to feel safe and respected.
Harassment of any kind is not tolerated. This includes:
Adults may not use Saphly's community features—including comments, reviews, or any messaging functionality—to solicit, groom, or inappropriately contact a minor. Any such conduct will result in immediate account suspension and referral to law enforcement without prior notice.
Comments and reviews are core to how readers engage with books and authors on Saphly. Critique and honest feedback are welcome. Abuse is not.
Respecting the privacy of others is non-negotiable. Do not share, post, or threaten to share:
Sharing someone's private information to intimidate, silence, or harm them will result in immediate account suspension and referral to law enforcement where applicable.
Do not impersonate other users, authors, or Saphly staff. This includes:
Operating multiple accounts to circumvent bans or manipulate platform systems (ratings, reviews, engagement) is also prohibited.
Publishing written content falsely attributed to another author is also prohibited. See our Terms of Service for full rules governing impersonation through published works.
Community spaces on Saphly are for genuine interaction, not advertising. The following are not permitted:
Sharing your own work in relevant, designated spaces (such as author profiles or designated community threads) is always welcome.
For minor or first-time violations, we will typically issue a warning before taking further action. Repeated violations, serious misconduct, or cases where immediate action is necessary to protect users may result in:
Severe violations, including threats, doxxing, or child safety concerns, may be escalated to law enforcement without prior notice.
If you believe enforcement action was taken in error, contact us via the Contact page.
If someone is violating these Guidelines, please report it through our platform or contact us via the Contact page. Reports are reviewed promptly. For urgent safety concerns, you can also reach us on our Discord server.
We may update these Guidelines periodically, indicating any changes through the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of our Services after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Guidelines. Where changes affect what is permitted, we will not take enforcement action against content published in good faith prior to those changes without first notifying the author and providing a reasonable opportunity to comply.
These Guidelines are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action or dispute arising from these Guidelines will be resolved in accordance with these laws and regulations.
If you have any questions about these Guidelines or need assistance, please contact us via the appropriate email address or form on the Contact page. For real-time assistance or community support, you can also reach us on our Discord server.
